We should all have a voice. And a voice that is heard. For many complex but human reasons sometimes we deny ourselves this opportunity. We might not want to say NO or create a conflict; we might want to please a person who matters to us. We might simply want to keep our job.
When we want to belong so strongly to a community, a family, a relationship or a job, we can forget our own needs and ideas on the way...
The emotional distress coming from the lack of boundaries, together with the frustration coming from not being able to articulate our wants and needs can take a toll on our mental well-being and our sense of identity.
With the idea of becoming assertive and gain greater mental health, THE SCHOOL OF ASSERTIVENESS is born!
By acting assertively, you significantly change and influenced the way others behave towards you. It also produces important internal effects. You think and feel differently about yourself. You consequently send the message to others that you expect them to treat you with the respect you deserve.
Wondering how different your life would be if you were more assertive? And love a group setting, where you get coached but are also able to share your stories in a "virtual class" ? Then the assertiveness school is for you.
Designed looking into the neuroscience of assertiveness, this five-week group coaching gives you the opportunity to:
- Work on yourself: the first 3 modules are about adapting an assertive mindset by working on self-acceptance, self-respect and healthy boundaries
- Learn new communication skills: how to be authentic without feeling guilty; asking for what you want, have constructive confrontations with no fear, act less defensively.
THE ONLINE GROUP COACHING PROGRAM
The School of Assertiveness consists of 5 hours of group coaching*. We meet once a week for 60 minutes and you are provided with super useful exercises to practice on your own!
Dates of the sessions on Mondays:
ASSERTIVE MINDSET SESSIONS: 27/09/21; 04/10/21; 11/10/21;
ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION PRACTICE: 18/10/21; 25/10/21
Each session is in English, and held online LIVE with Alessandra, your assertiveness coach. Easy to schedule and always on the same day and time of the week (5 pm CET). We will use Zoom for our sessions.
Each week exercises are sent to you, so you can do your self-study after each session. It is not homework, it is healthy habits creation!
You will meet other international people living through the same challenges and can feel connected and understood.

HOW IS THIS JOURNEY BENEFICIAL?
Group coaching creates a dimension where we share the same challenges, and therefore we feel understood. Working with exercises and roleplays is important, and each one of the participants is part of a transformative journey towards a new assertive mindset.
Amongst the techniques you are going to learn there is non-violent communication, assertive body language and tone, coaching cognitive behavioral techniques (to change our perspective on negative thinking) and a few tricks against imposter syndrome.
The plus here is that being a mental health first aider, Alessandra, your coach, will make you focus on your self-care (the basics of self- assertiveness) and guide through "mental spa" practices too. You will receive an assertiveness booklet with guided exercises to go through after each session.
